Ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby.

No matter how much university prepares you for working in the real world…there’s really nothing quite like it. To say agency life is a rude awakening for most students is an understatement. Those five-day weeks are going to really hurt, especially when you’re asked to do overtime. The deadlines set by real clients are far more urgent than those your lecturer ever dreamt up, and sometimes no matter how good your idea is – if the client doesn’t like it, there’s no time to sulk. Instead you need to conjure up something better, pronto.

Welcome to agency life, my friend.

But don’t let us deter you. Once you’ve settled into the swing of things, working in a creative agency can be one of the best rides of your life. Fast-paced, exhilarating and no two days ever the same, the perks of student life don’t hold a candle to this. At Mr B & Friends, we love it. And when a project or campaign you’ve been working on is a success, we promise you it feels a million times better than when your tutor gave you a shout out in lecture that time.

But it’s no use us just telling you how it is, we want you to experience it for yourself.

We’re on the look out for Future Friends

If you’re an ambitious student or graduate brimming with creative thinking, we want to offer you a taste of authentic studio life. We’re giving you the chance to work on big projects and campaigns, from conception to completion, alongside our talented creative team. And unlike some agencies, your hard work won’t go unrewarded. You’ll be on a wage like the rest of us.

Sound interesting? We’re looking for capable young designers and art directors, but if you’re an illustrator or copywriter, we’d be more than happy to hear from you too.

We’re offering a six-month paid placement to one lucky candidate. Your placement with us will start in August, but we’re happy to be flexible.

Here are just a few of the things you’ll benefit from at Mr B’s:

  • Hands on experience
  • Agency environment
  • Commercial insight
  • Career development
  • Quarterly socials
  • Get Fit At Work
  • Free booze on Friday
  • A good laugh
  • Decent wage

And, if you end up knocking our socks off, then we might make your position a little more permanent. Take Rosie, who joined us last August for a sixth-month placement and is now one of our skilled Junior Designers, here’s what she says about the experience,

As a Mr B intern, I got thrown straight in at the deep end of agency life. From day one, briefs were rolling through the door, and I was made to feel like an important part of the team. I don’t think I could have found a better way to learn about the design industry, or meet so many great people!”

For your chance to join us as a Future Friend, simply download our Creative Challenge brief and submit your entry by Friday 20th May 2017.  Any questions, fire an email to sheena@mrbandfriends.co.uk.

Go on, make the transition from student to professional creative a more enjoyable ride. We look forward to welcoming a new friend.
