Louise’s outreach work receives recognition

By Sarah Dennis 4 months ago

Animator and Creative Artworker, Louise Lepic, has been nominated for an award for her school outreach work. The nomination comes from Into University, a charity that provides local learning centres for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

As part of the Mr B & Friends Diversity Team, Louise has built relationships with a number of schools and organisations to provide insight to participants, increasing their understanding of the industry. Outreach activities are targeted to reach those who will most benefit, with a commitment to ongoing development. In particular the efforts are focused on working with children from less socio-economically privileged backgrounds that would otherwise not be aware of or have the opportunity to enter our industry. So far this has included visits from school children to the office, work experience students and presentations, meetings and workshops.

Louise is part of the company’s Diversity Team, who take on a number of projects and initiatives that tackle issues facing our industry and society more generally:

 – encouraging young people from an early age to see the creative industry as a career option

 – engaging students from under-represented BAME groups to learn about careers in our industry

 – inspiring women in the creative business to aim for senior positions in the business

Louise says, “I’m really pleased that Mr B & Friends is supporting this outreach programme, recognising that talents in this sector are spread throughout society and that we should be encouraging efforts towards a more diverse workforce. Creating opportunities for children from all walks of life to reach their creative potential is an essential part of addressing this.”
