As the academic year comes to an end we are starting to say farewell to some of our Interns as they head onto the next part their journey – starting their final year of University. We were curious to hear their thoughts from their year out in agency life!
Cue Sophie – Client Services Intern! After completing 2 years at The University of Plymouth studying Marketing, Soph joined us for a year in industry.
Let’s hear what she has to say about her time at Mr B’s…
‘From the first day through the doors at Mr B Towers I knew I was in for an exciting year! I was ready for the challenge of full time employment and agency life’.
‘It didn’t take long to settle into the wonderful ways of Mr B’s; becoming a regular at Get Fit At Work (GFAW) and attending monthly socials was a great way to integrate with the team’.
‘After spilling the beans about my lack of fruit knowledge, my team set up a ‘Soph Vs Fruit’ challenge in which I had to eat and rate exotic (and not so exotic) fruit every week. This only concluded that dates are just giant fat raisins’.
‘Throughout my internship I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of our biggest clients including InterContinental Hotels Group and Principality Building Society. Working with these clients across an array of briefs has given me the confidence and ability to lead my own projects from start to finish. A particular highlight for me was taking part in the Principality brand shoot. This took place over three days with the help of art directors, models, make-up artists and photographers. It was amazing to experience a project from start to finish, having been part of such a collaborative process’.
‘Another highlight for me was our Christmas party at the Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel and in true Mr B fashion; the party was one to remember! With karaoke at the ready and to everyone’s delight (we hope), the Operations Manager, SS, and myself sang a beautiful duet, which was met by a (undeservingly) weak applause’!
‘I have made some great friends and have had many belly laughs, stitches and giggles over my year at Mr B’s. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to work and I will miss not only my team, but everyone across the agency’.
‘One piece of advice I would give to anyone entering a graduate job or internship is to be positive, enthusiastic and just say yes! Push yourself into those meetings, question those thoughts and make your ideas heard! I have learnt that no question is a silly question and the best results come from collaborative thinking’!
We wish Sophie all the best in her studies and know she’ll smash it! Good luck and don’t be a stranger!
