The Business Cyber Centre (BCC) will lead the charge to make UK businesses more cyber secure, by building a powerful community of experts at its site in Chippenham.
The Business Cyber Centre (BCC) is part of the Swindon & Wiltshire LEP and the intention is that as a dedicated leader in the field, the business park will create 250 new jobs and 1,700 training opportunities in an effort to level up the region. It will support SMEs to grow safely by removing the complexity of cyber security, providing services ranging from virtual cyber training to specialist courses. By encouraging collaboration, education and innovation, the BCC intends to empower customers to drive their businesses forward.
The brand positioning leads with ‘We turn cyber complexity into cyber confidence’ demonstrating the benefit of expertise in this valuable area. The identity has been designed with this assertive tone in mind, with black and white statements highlighted by neon yellow, while shapes applied in a modernist style add impact. The effect of the brand is rounded off with clear, straightforward statements.
Sara Foley, Senior Designer at Mr B & Friends, says, “We wanted to create a brand for BCC that was disruptive without being aggressive. The Swiss-style grid effect suggests safety and structure, while highlighting is used to draw attention to key information.”
The new site uses elements of the brand throughout the interiors, creating a light, modern space for the teams that will be based in the offices.
Tom Marshall, Commercial Operations Manager for the BCC, said, “Our mission is to transform the future of UK businesses by taking on any cyber challenge with confidence. We needed a brand that could support our vision and we’re delighted that Mr B & Friends have used their expertise to create an identity that does just that.”
The event was opened by Michelle Donelan, MP for Chippenham and Minister for Universities, and Paul Moorby OBE, SWLEP Chair, with further speeches from Andrew Elliot, Deputy Director for Cyber Skills and Innovation, DCMS and Paddy Bradley, SWLEP CEO, and attended by business and education representatives throughout the region.
