Bristol City FC had a lot to boast about. A dynamic young manager. A talented team. An ambitious owner and an impressively revamped home stadium. But something was missing.
Their identity didn’t feel representative of their Premier League ambitions. And the crest, with its strong links to the city, but not the club, didn’t fit the intense pride of their fans. They were hungry for something they could proudly call their own. Something which reflected the club’s progressive attitude. Bristol City was ready to usher in a new era.
And to create an icon to rally the city behind them.
Inspired by the club’s nickname and featured on shirts of the past, a robin was the perfect choice. Flaming-breasted, small yet fierce. A symbol of hope and rebirth, with an established history – and clear appetite – among the club and its supporters. Ready to hold its own amongst the other iconic marques that top the scoreboards.
We unveiled the new emblem at a key supporters’ pub, and launched the small yet mighty bird on key Bristol landmarks and hoardings throughout the city.
An emblem of burning pride.
An identity reclaimed.
A symbol the club, and the city, could be truly proud of.
