Held at FieldGood on the outskirts of Bath, the away day was a chance for the team to connect and reflect on the successes of the last 12 months. The winners this year were chosen in recognition of their dedication to one of the revised company values, while the traditional ‘Mr B Award’ and ‘Best Friend Award’ remained.
The 2022 winners were as follows:
Be Rock Solid– Associate Strategy Director Gareth Atkinson, took this award, which goes to the person who has proven themselves to be dependable through their honest approach. It recognises the importance of stepping up when there’s a need and stepping back if they can’t commit. With multiple plates to juggle, Gareth tells it like it is and delivers true value in the process.
Live for the Wow– Senior Art Director Nathan Crosby, snapped up this award, which represents the genius and excitement of creating something truly brilliant. An integral part of a number of huge projects over the last year, Nathan’s work illustrates why we do what we do.
Seize the Opportunity– Senior Account Director Andy Kaye, took this award, showing that fortune really does favour the brave. Undaunted by any challenge, Andy continues to seek new opportunities and never rests on his laurels.
No Added Nonsense– Business Director Matt Joy, nailed this award again with his straightforward, to the point approach to getting the job done. Organised, efficient and incisive, Matt epitomises our no bullshit approach to business.
Mr B Award– Junior Designer Emma Purnell, stunned us all since being chosen for the Future Friend Internship last year, quickly securing herself a permanent place in the creative team. Talented, proactive and energetic, Emma has quickly made herself invaluable and we’re all excited to see how she continues to develop.
Best Friend Award– this is the agency’s ‘player’s player’ award, voted on by the whole team for the person who has proven themselves to be the best friend in the agency. Supportive, kind and fun, Senior Designer Sara Foley, is widely recognised to be one in a million and was an obvious choice for the coveted award.
In the evening the venue was transformed for ‘Fe-Steve-al’, our celebration of all things Steve Richardson as we mark his departure for New Zealand. We were joined by a number of Mr B & Friends alumni for Steve-themed fairground fun, delicious food and lots of dancing. Entertainment was provided by Brass Junkies and DJ Emma. With a heartfelt speech from Mr B, and Steve delivering a poem he’d written for us all, both the tears and the drinks flowed. Kia Ora Steve, new adventures await.
