Having worked with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) on employee engagement since 2016, including on some substantial past events, we were excited to partner with the company in delivering an impactful and insightful event for its senior leaders as they came together this summer.
Our challenge was to create a positive and thought-provoking exhibition space, examining the social and macroeconomic trends shaping the industry and, crucially, how IHG is responding. Despite the challenges that have faced the hospitality industry over the last two years, IHG had much to celebrate and the event, which brought together 75 of its senior leaders, was to bring that to life in a way that left attendees feeling energised and inspired.
Over 10 weeks the Mr B & Friends team worked side by side with the IHG team on developing the creative strategy and execution of the exhibition. Spanning visual identity, artwork and animation, content and copywriting as well as space planning and specification, many members of the agency team had a hand in the project. In total a huge 20 installations, 71 designs and 8 videos were produced for the four zones featured in the walk-through installation.
With so many parts to coordinate for the event Senior Account Director, Andy Kaye, and Senior Art Director, Nathan Crosby, travelled to Washington DC to direct the installation and ensure the experience was brought to life as intended.
The conference was a huge success, with attendees commenting on how impressive the installation was. Neil Maidment, Head of Global Internal Communications & Editorial, Global Corporate Affairs at IHG said, “The team have been absolutely brilliant to work with. They worked tirelessly and if you’d seen us in a room together you’d never have known who was an IHG employee and who wasn’t, such was their engagement and enthusiasm in the work and their ambition, care and commitment to make it work. We truly set the bar at a completely different level for the exhibition.”
We’re delighted to be hosting our own in-person event later this month as our popular Masterclass series returns after a Covid hiatus. We’ll be taking on how to create extraordinary employee experiences, showing how you can generate positive culture, loyalty and performance, and ultimately brand success. With speakers from Bristol Bears, Convatec and our own senior leadership team this is an event not to miss. If you’re interested in joining us at the Clifton Observatory on Thursday 24th November, get in contact with Sarah Dennis to get full details and reserve a space.
