The Mr B & Friends team is raising a toast to natural beauty products brand Naissance after they claimed two wins at the Swansea Bay Business Awards.
The company, which operates from South Wales, uses natural and organic ingredients to create its range of over 1000 products. They won the category of ‘International Trade Business of the Year’ and the overall ‘Business of the Year 2018’ award at the prestigious ceremony last week.
Following a period of rapid expansion that sees Naissance exporting to four continents and turning over more than £10 million a year, they were in need of an updated brand proposition and identity to reflect their commitment to bettering the health and beauty world.
We created a new articulation of the brand centered on the positioning of ‘Discovering Better’. This illustrates both the honest, ethical approach and drive for progression that the brand embodies. Naissance are focused on sustainable sourcing, reducing the carbon footprint and giving back to producers. The desire for advancement from the client fits well with the agency’s ‘where next’ mantra through which they seek to identify and support in their ambitious clients.
Within the range there are two categories, ‘Made by You’ which is a pure single ingredient range that customers can use to make their own products, and ‘Made for You’ which are pre-formulated products characterised by audience, mood or benefit.
For the ‘Made by You’ range Mr B & Friends created a simple numbering system using a letterpress effect, while the ‘Made for You’ range features hand drawn illustrations that are inspired by natural shapes. The nod to unpolished, traditional methods alludes to the fact that imperfections are not glossed over but rather used as a basis for learning and enrichment.
Design Director Sheena Mistry says: “We wanted to give Naissance a vibrant brand to reflect its zest for better and its ongoing quest for improvement. Organic branding needn’t be saturated in green and we used a playful colour palette and fresh tone of voice to bring both focus and personality to the brand.”
Naissance Head of Marketing Ian Beattie comments: “Our focus is on making people more aware of the origins of their products and providing them with options that make use of this knowledge. We’re on a constant journey to grow and develop our offering, and the new brand really captures that authenticity. We’re delighted with the work from Mr B & Friends and excited to be able to roll this out over the coming months.”
The new brand is currently being introduced across the product range.
