Bristol Creative Industries, naming and brand identity.

Bristol Creative Industries is the new name for Bristol Media, the collective that brings together creative and digital talent across the region.

Mr B & Friends proposed Bristol Creative Industries, a more inclusive name that encompassed all sectors. The new identity came from the organisation’s purpose of creating a strong community that supports each other for the common good, with shapes connecting, representing the individual members.

While the creative sector in Bristol has boomed over the previous decade, and membership of Bristol Media has grown, the name no longer fully reflected the breadth of its members and the visual identity was starting to look outdated.

The new name is more inclusive of the diverse nature of Bristol’s creative economy, and creates an umbrella organisation to unite all creative activity in the region.

Community is at the heart of what we can achieve as a region and the new identity, which shows elements pulling together, reflects that. Along with the new name we’re a more powerful voice and have more gravitas as we compete nationally and internationally.”
