Naissance, brand and packaging system.

Natural beauty brand, Naissance, was on a mission to take sustainably sourced products into the mainstream. Poised for rapid export expansion they needed a consolidated brand that showed their total commitment to health and wellbeing.

The new brand positioning of ‘Discovering Better’ shows Naissance’s ongoing quest for honest, ethical improvements in reducing their carbon footprint and giving back to producers.

With over 1000 different products Naissance needed a system to help customers identify what they were looking for. We split the products into two main categories with ‘Made by you’ representing the pure, single ingredient mixer products, and ‘Made for you’ signalling the pre-formulated products that are characterised by audience, mood or benefit. We added a simple numbering system and designed gift packaging for combination buys.

In the four years since the rebrand, Naissance has reached a £30m turnover, collecting accolades such as International Trade Business of the Year and overall Business of the Year 2018.

We wanted to steer clear of the greenwashing that dominates the organic products market. The rationalisation of SKUs helped create a clear product hierarchy which we used to communicate Naissance’s sustainability through raw, hand drawn lettering, quirky illustration and a charming tone of voice.
